Women Leadership

Stonger Women Stronger Nation
Today in DR Congo women’s leadership and political participation are restricted. Many women are underrepresented as voters, as well as in leading positions. This occurs despite their proven abilities as leaders and their right to participate equally in democratic governance. KCCA seeks to improve the rights of the women that we support. To create opportunities for them KCCA has done many projects like sewing, farming, soap making, concious literacy and more. Our mission is to improve their quality of life and create opportunities for them. The women employed by KCCA are agents of change for the communities that we serve, because of their efforts we have helped many orphaned kids with education along with food and nutrition. The women teach the kids and also are instructors in our community center that helps people with many skills that will create a better life for them. KCCA has women and girls working in our Farming Program and Fishing Program that stimulate the economy in Uvira making jobs for people while also providing food for those in need. KCCA continues to advocate for reforms to ensure women’s fair access to political spheres—as voters, candidates, elected officials and civil service members.
