​Marie Mithila Ponga is very knowledgeable and brings a lot of experience to KCCA/ACCK as the Social Welfare Consultant. She obtained a state diploma for Secondary Studies at the Odari Institute in Bukavu, a technical accounting and a bachelor's degree in Bukavu at CIDEP. Marie is Head of the Urban Office for Gender, Family, and Children of the city of Uvira. Other positions held previously include Accountant at OCC/Uvira; Psycho-Social Assistant at UNHCR/Uvira for 3 years.  Marie holds many merits as a model civil servant. MONUSCO Human Rights, SOFIBEF, Children's Parliament, Uvira City Hall, Women Leaders... all have already recognized Marie, because her know-how in performing duties. Some of her trainings are on human rights, training on Leadership, on GBV protection, on case management, on conflict resolution; also training on the various resolutions, conventions, treaties, international, regional, and national regulations that protect and promote women, girls, children, and people living with disabilities. During her tenure she advocated for the cause of women, girls, and children, through workshops, awareness campaigns, and support for victims of GBV, and positive effects have occurred, which is why she has several honors. Marie is currently living in Uvira, DRC with her family.
